Mike McCormack was born in London in 1965, but grew up in Sligo.

His stories are collected as Getting it in the Head (London, Jonathan Cape, 1965), for which he won the Rooney Prize; and Forensic Songs (Dublin, Lilliput, 2012).

His novels are Crowe’s Requiem (Jonathan Cape, 1998); and Notes from a Coma (Jonathan Cape, 2005).

With Johnny Reilly he wrote the screenplay for The Terms, based on his short story.

He lives in Galway.
