John O’Donnell was born in 1960.

His collections are Some Other Country (Cork, Bradshaw Books, 2002); and Icarus Sees His Father Fly (Dublin, Dedalus Press, 2004).
He won the Hennessy/Sunday Tribune Award for Poetry in 1998 and the Listowel Writers’ Week Prizes for Best Poem and Best Collection in 2001, and was awarded first prize in the Seacat National Poetry Competition, 2002.
He lives in Dublin.
