Aoife Mannix was born in Stockholm of Irish parents, and grew up in Dublin, Ottawa and New York.

A former editor for the BBC’s Holby City, she has written drama documentaries for Radio 4.

Her poetry collections are The Trick of Foreign Words (London, Tall Lighthouse, 2002); The Elephant in the Corner (Tall Lighthouse, 2005); Growing Up An Alien (Tall Lighthouse, 2007); and Turn The Clocks Upside Down (Tall Lighthouse, 2008).

Her first novel is Heritage of Secrets (London, Flipped Eye Publishing, 2008).

She lives in London.
